- Operate and maintain a highly automated two-stage Frick ammonia refrigeration system supporting food production and freezing operations
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components, including compressors, valves, pumps, VFDs, and control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure maximum system reliability, efficiency, safety and compliance
- Work cross functionally with operations, maintenance and sanitation to deliver results

• Perform microbiological testing, including Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli, Staphylococcus, APC, coliform, yeast, and mold analysis.
• Conduct physical and chemical testing including pH, moisture, fat content, solids, salt content, peroxide, whip, and weep testing.
• Collect and prepare samples from raw materials, work-in-process, finished products, and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration records, sterilization logs, and sample documentation.
• Prepare laboratory media, supplies, and testing materials.
• Enter and maintain accurate laboratory data and testing records.
• Support USDA, SQF, HACCP, and food quality compliance programs.
• Participate in environmental monitoring, water quality testing, shelf-life studies, and proficiency testing.
• Assist during internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and support in-process quality activities.
• Cross-train with the Quality Technician and provide coverage when needed.
• Assist in training backup personnel for laboratory operations.
• Immediately report out-of-specification test results so corrective actions can be initiated.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of laboratory or quality control experience preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of microbiological testing and laboratory practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to accurately document laboratory results and maintain records.

Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Wabash Valley and Simple Transport professionally.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including maintaining a clean driving record and following company safety policies.
Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and any other necessary documentation.

– Serve as back-up to other shifts as needed
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Prior experience in working in food manufacturing is a plus.
– Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work in a sanitary manner to prevent cross-contamination.
– Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
– Demonstrate consistent and punctual attendance at work.
– Monday-Friday Day Shift (6am-6pm) Night Shift (6pm-6am)
– Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment and production areas during weekly start up.
